The 2020 Cavalcade of Authors will be held on March 21, 2020 in Tricities Washington.
Cavalcade of Authors is dedicated to providing middle and high school students of our region access to some of the best young adult authors and to promote reading and writing within our community. We provide an authentic writing conference experience where students interact and learn from the ultimate mentors – the authors of the books they are reading.
Started in 2009 by local middle school librarian, Michelle Lane, Cavalcade of Authors is an event held every spring to celebrate reading, and writing. With a staff of volunteer librarians, teachers, and parents, the event begins with a kick-off at Barnes and Noble and ends with a dynamic workshop style conference. Over 1000 students attend the conference yearly to participate in workshops by award winning, popular authors. Featuring Pacific Northwest authors, COA has also invited authors from all over the world.
Authors also visit local schools and businesses throughout their visit, stay for autographing sessions, and promote the love of reading and writing.
